Help Nilakshan and Sashan to fund their education

Hi,

my family and I are raising funds for a cause that is very close to our hearts ♥️

The father, Jeyeram, was our family Tuk Tuk driver for nearly two decades and one of the most reliable, honest and genuine people I had ever met. In 2020, he became very ill (diabetic, heart patient), had two heart attacks, and lost his eyesight which meant he could not provide for his family anymore. Shortly after, the mother (Sri Kanthi) was diagnosed with cancer and underwent several treatments which left her extremely weak and frail.

Their two sons, Nilakshan (21) and Sashan (17) have been looking after their parents since 2020, who from that point onward required 24/7 care. However, the parents always strived for a better future for their sons. Until they fell ill, they always ensured the boys were attending school, extra classes and excelled in their studies.

A week after the video was filmed, the father passed away. Two months later, the mother passed away.

Both boys are now on their own and living off food and small financial donations from relatives and friends. They have lived through many hardships in recent years and now only have each other. But, they deserve a brighter future and both boys are keen and willing to engage in further studies or training to live the life that their parents envisioned they would have one day.

Nilakshan (the elder son) excelled at his studies before his parents fell ill. He was known as the "studious one". He is keen to get into accountancy or banking. He has been looking into courses at the Chartered Institute of Accounting or a traineeship at a bank but requires the funds to do so.

Sashan (the younger son) was always described as the more "hands-on" brother and is keen to become a mechanic through an apprenticeship.

Help us fund their basic living expenditure for the duration of 2 years so they can focus on their studies/training until they have the skills to get into employment.

My family and I will ensure they both attend their courses and will support them where we can. We will also provide them with their living allowance each month.

Per month, they currently need about 30,000 rupees (85€ / 100USD) to pay for daily expenses, food, electricity and water).

30,000 x 24 (months)= 720,000 rupees (2050 € / 2395 USD)
