Help Nikki with cancer care expenses

My girlfriend Nikki Cravens has been diagnosed with very aggressive Stage 4 metastatic breast cancer. The cancer tumor is quite large and has already spread to some of her tissue and ribs. Insurance issues are partially stopping her from accessing the kind and quality of care she really needs to adequately address this nasty problem. Nikki is rather young for breast cancer (she is only in her 30s), and she needs to be able to visit with doctors and clinicians at the Anschutz Medical School campus in Denver to get the most up-to-date recommendations for appropriate treatment. However, it turns out the medical school will not accept her insurance and just the first consulting appointment was estimated to cost her $1500. Nikki has started chemotherapy treatment but has had to drastically cut her work hours because of the toll aggressive treatment takes. The chemo is quite draining and working will continue to be quite difficult. In addition to a big cut in work hours and income, Nikki has had to buy a couple of wigs because of the hair loss. Her 15-year-old son also needs to be cared for and being a single mother while being treated for cancer is quite challenging. Overall, money is in short supply, making it difficult to get the medical care she needs to be able to survive and thrive. As her friend and companion I am asking for donations to help defray the costs of medical care that insurance will not cover and the consulting that is necessary. There could be clinical trials she may qualify for but access to those will require consulting appointments at the least, and that will be more money demanded out of pocket because of insurance issues. Beyond the immediate needs, at this point it seems Nikki will be on some type of drug therapy for years to come, and it is unknown to what extent that may be covered by insurance. Any little bit you could help with would be very much appreciated. So you to know how Nikki is doing, I will commit to sending you periodic updates on her condition.
