Hi everyone,
My name is Clarissa and I’m writing this on behalf of my sister-in-law, Nikki, one of the most selfless, loving people you could ever meet.
If you know Nikki, you know she always puts others first. Her kids, her family, and her friends. She is the heart of her home, a devoted mom of three, and someone who gives endlessly, even when she has nothing left to give.
Right now, Nikki needs help.
She has been battling a serious heart condition that keeps her heart rate dangerously high, even at rest. Despite medications and procedures, nothing has worked the way doctors have hoped. She’s exhausted, overwhelmed, and still pushing through every single day for her family.
As a single income household with three children, the weight of this situation is already immense, but now there’s another layer.
Her medical team is recommending a highly specialized hybrid sinus node sparing ablation surgery, a procedure not available anywhere in Canada. This means Nikki may need to travel to Kansas City in the United States for a chance at getting her health and her life back.
While some of the medical costs may be covered, the financial burden surrounding this is overwhelming:
- Flights and travel expenses
- Accommodation for an extended stay
- Food and transportation
- Time away from home and income
- Care and support for her three kids while she’s gone
If Alberta Health does not approve out-of-country care, Nikki will still need to undergo a complex two-part surgery in Calgary. This would involve multiple hospital stays and require her husband, Rylan, to take time off work adding even more financial and emotional strain to an already stretched household.
One of the hardest parts of all of this is that Nikki may have to spend extended time away from her children, something no mom ever wants to face. But she’s doing this for them. She wants to be here long term to be healthy, present, and able to keep up with the three kids who mean everything to her.
Nikki would never ask for help herself but right now, she truly needs it.
If you’re able to donate, share, or support in any way, it would mean the world to her and her family. Every bit of help brings her one step closer to getting the care she needs.

And if all you can do is share this or send a message of encouragement, please know that matters more than you realize.
Thank you so much for any and all support for Nikki and her wonderful family.
