Hello everyone, my name is Nikki, and I’m a single mother to my amazing 12-year-old son who has autism.

For the past year, we’ve been without a stable home — moving between shelters and temporary places, doing our best to stay safe and keep going. It’s been especially hard on my son because he needs structure and consistency to feel calm and secure.

I’m working hard to get back on my feet and create a better life for us, but the cost of housing in Philadelphia keeps getting higher. I’ve applied for every program I can — housing assistance, vouchers, supportive services — but the waiting lists are long, and we just need a little help to get into a safe, stable place in the meantime.

I’m asking for help to raise $2,500 to cover:

• First month’s rent

• Basic furniture and moving costs
