Help Nikki & Dylan after their stillbirth

On October 21st, Dylan and Nikki Nagel gave birth to their first child Roman Nagel following an emergency C-section at seven months into the pregnancy. Excitement quickly turned to heartbreak. Unfortunately, Roman was born still and did not even get to take his first breath.

Instead of decorating their child’s nursery, they are planning his funeral. It’s a heartbreaking scenario that is truly every parent’s worst nightmare.

And although their child did not survive – the pair must still deal with piling medical expenses associated with a C-section and ICU treatment.

There are not many resources for parents of a stillborn child. There are many complications: physically in the form of breast lactation and mentally in the depression and anxiety that follow. There is no maternity leave or extra subsidies. This is despite stillbirth affecting about 1 in 175 births (about 21,000 babies) in the US annually.
