Hi everyone,
This is one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to write. My service dog, Nikka, has been diagnosed with aggressive cancer.
Nikka is not just my dog; she is my medical service dog and my lifeline. She saves my life daily by alerting, grounding, and supporting me through medical episodes. Because of her, I am able to function, stay safe, and live with independence. Losing her would mean losing not only my best friend, but the constant protection and stability she provides.
We recently learned that Nikka’s cancer is aggressive and requires urgent diagnostic surveys and advanced testing to determine treatment options and next steps. These surveys are critical; without them, we cannot move forward with care or pain management, and time is not on our side.
The total cost for diagnostics and treatment planning is estimated to be $8,000, which includes:
• Advanced cancer surveys and imaging
• Lab work and specialist evaluations
• Treatment planning and supportive care
Despite doing everything we can, this is more than we can manage alone. I am asking for help so I can give Nikka the chance she deserves—comfort, dignity, and the possibility of more quality time together.
If you’ve ever loved an animal, relied on one, or understand the bond between a service dog and their handler, you know how deep this runs. Nikka has given me her whole heart and her life’s work. I am fighting just as hard for her.
Any donation, no matter the amount, goes directly toward Nikka’s medical care. If you can’t donate, sharing this fundraiser or sending love and prayers means more than I can put into words.
Thank you for reading, for caring, and for helping us fight for Nikka. ❤️
With endless gratitude,
Sarah
