Life-Changing Medical Treatment For Niki Bunna

Donation protected
My name is Alexandr Mincenok and I am fundraising for a life-changing operation for the woman I love, Nikolett Bunna.

Niki has a combination of extremely rare vascular compression disorders that significantly restrict blood flow to the body, including her vital organs. The worst condition is her kidney - there is almost 0% blood flow into the kidney in an upright position - most of the time Niki has to remain in a laying down position to allow any blood flow into the kidney. Other symptoms include limb paralysis, breathing and eating difficulty as well as constant, high level pain. Niki has a combination of three separate diagnoses: Extreme Dunbar, May-Thurner and Nutcracker syndromes.

As Niki's condition is exceptionally rare, getting an official diagnosis took many years (and many misdiagnoses), during which Niki's condition rapidly deteriorated. Unfortunately, the rarity of the disease also means it is not a standard operation that the NHS can perform anytime in the near, or possibly far future.

The proposed treatment is a surgery: stentgrafts would be inserted to support weak spots in Niki’s veins and tissue compressing the major branches of the aorta would be removed, allowing normal blood flow to be restored to the vital organs. Expert surgeon Wilhalm Sandmann from Germany would conduct the operation. The cost is £53,000 which we cannot dream of affording on our own.

Niki has a huge heart and dreams of opening an animal shelter. She dreams of being able to go walking in nature and we dream of having a family of our own one day.

Please help us.

Update:

Dear all,

Thank you so much for all your donations and heartfelt messages of support, we are both so touched.

In mid-July, I secured a bank loan to pay for Niki's surgery and she received it very quickly. I wish I had better news, but sadly Niki is feeling worse than ever before. She can't do basic things like getting dressed or walk a few metres without my help. They said the surgery was successful....but we don't know what to believe right now as it has been over a month since she received it and is still deteriorating.

All proceeds post-surgery will now be going towards Niki's future care as we manage her illness.

Your support and prayers are keeping us going through this limbo. Words are not enough to say how grateful we feel.

Thank you,
Niki & Alex
