hey gang. i’m niki, from computer. you may know me from vgbees, my newsletter make you think, or from my previous work at giant bomb and fanbyte. there are no good words I have found to describe how much I loathe this, but I need help.

Last night while hosting the VGBees mixer I had multiple valuables stolen. I had brought a whole set up so our dear friend John, who was recently in a car accident (please send love to John), could call in. The most urgent thing I need help replacing is my laptop. I need this desperately to work, and live, and especially to find work.

As many of you know, I was recently let go from the Giant Bomb team. I am lacking any significant or stable income. it feels flimsy and inadequate but true to say this — I am so down on my luck. I’ve had a really rough run of it lately personally, professionally, privately, publicly. Really take your pick. So now we are back to me needing help.

I cannot afford to replace any of the things that were taken. I am now without:

- My Macbook Pro

- My switch oled

- My jackery generator

- chargers, usb microphone, various cables

And then we get sentimental

- Jewelry my partner gave me

- A toy that was just given to me by a lovely GB community member for my dog Barley (all of this sucks but losing a gift meant for my dog is especially galling!!!)

- My favorite sunglasses

I am asking for $3000 to replace the stuff that i lost.

I am trying very hard to keep things together and move forward but I feel like I haven’t been on solid ground since 2022. It’s scary and I’m tired and I am sad to have to ask for help when i have already been shown such generosity but I don’t know what else to do.
