Help Niki and Her Animals!
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Jess and I am fundraising for my dear friend Niki. Because of circumstances, she is in need of financial assistance for many things. Please consider donating, or at least sharing!
The situation:
"Looking for a house in the woods to rent or buy that will fit/allow 1 dog, 3 cats, 4 chinchillas, 2 ferrets, 2 hedgies, a potential parrot I may be getting if she likes me, 7 different types of lizards, 15 tarantulas, 40+ snakes, a tortoise, potential tegu lizard or two and more animals that will come later down the line. Looking around southern NH, Northshore and Middlesex county.
My car is also breaking down because of work, roughly 200,000 miles put on it since the fall of 2018 with significant repairs needed. His car needs a new transmission and currently isn't drivable. We both plan to have a part time source of income while getting the business started.
All of this came crashing down at once. Any help with car repairs, new cars, a house for rent or purchase or a commercial building for the business is greatly appreciated."
About Niki:
"I have been active in hands-on wildlife conservation and education, as well as native and exotic animal rescue and education, working with over 40 species of animals for the past 10 years. Protecting and speaking for all creatures has been a passion of mine since I was a child, starting with caterpillars and spiders. Educating the public on misunderstood animals has been my calling and my job for all of my adult life.
I started working with wolves in 2012, coyotes and foxes as well in 2014. I took wildlife rehabilitation courses in 2015, which taught me a great deal about our native wildlife. Since then I have been a professionally trained animal caretaker and handler for hundreds of animals, giving educational programs. In 2019 I started working hands-on with birds of prey providing animal care. The same year and following, I visited Florida to meet, work with and learn about much of the same animals, as well as animals new to me. My journey in this career is a neverending one!
I am co-owner of Scales, Feathers & Fur, a growing family of rescued and surrendered animal ambassadors. Pictured is our first rescue, a 3 year old Zebra het albino carpet python! There is an enormous world of animals out there in need of rescue! I've dreamed of having a carpet python for around 6 years. I've been working with them for the past 8.
My hope is to share them with people of all ages. We are located in Carlisle, MA."
