On 1/13/25, Niki Huckaba and Cody Long woke to the sound of their smoke detectors going off. They were initially able to gather a few very necessary items and escape the house along with their dogs. The fire department shared that the fire was out, only to have it restart not once more but a third time during the day, leading to the loss of many items, some irreplaceable. While safe and unhurt, this has been traumatizing and costly. They were able to get some items out of the house but at this time they don’t know if any of the larger items will be salvageable.
