Hey friends,
I have been critically ill over the summer, experiencing complex burnout. Chronic illness, long term solo parenting (of two beautiful boys, one of whom is neurodiverse) and peri-menopause - of which the specialist treatment and medication I require is not funded under medicare (underfunded women's health! Gah! don't get me started), all adds up when you throw in rising costs of living, and a pandemic on the back of months of extreme fire danger. That last lockdown literally broke me. Getting through a day at the moment is honest hard yakka, and my family are struggling.
I am in need of some serious TLC. Please.
So I am turning to you, my broader community. I would dearly love a good solid six months on a beach (ha! wouldn't we all!), but (clinically proven) acupuncture works just as well for me. 3 to 6 months of weekly acupuncture would help me turn this tank around towards good health and away from a complete health breakdown, nurturing my endocrine and nervous systems, which in turn will help me parent my boysies and participate in community life again.
Can you help? It's a big ask, I know; I am acutely aware I am not the only person/family really doing it tough at the moment. But if you do have a few spare dollars, I'd be super grateful.
Acupuncture would be with Anada Jones, and costs $100 per session. https://www.facebook.com/AnadasChineseMedicineClinic/

There will be those who judge me for asking and for airing my so-called "dirty laundry" in public. And to that, I'd say, check your biases, your privilege, and your defences, listen to your own needs that would benefit from being aired, soften. And also, I still love you :). For too long, mothers, women and children's needs have been silenced, dismissed, belittled, gaslit. Vulnerability spruiked as a weakness. I believe it is important to vocalise how the current socioecologicaleconomicpoliciticalclimatecrisis impacts us and cultivate new ways to do community, and yes, ask for help!
Thankyou.
