Help Nika Escape A Toxic Home Environment

my name is nika. the cat in the picture is my 1 yr old cat, dandelion.

 

i'm so sorry i have to do this. i wish there was any other way.

 

i need to leave. i need to leave my home. i've tried, and tried, and tried, but it's so so hard and i can't be here anymore.

 

last year (2020) i had to move back in with my mom after living in columbus, ohio for two years. i moved back to vernon, ct and was there to help my mom with covid-related adjustments--online teaching, dealing with computer stuff in general. then a tree almost fell on our house.

 

my mom suffered a nervous breakdown. she has been in crisis ever since.

 

i've been a nurse to my mother for over a year. she has days where she's good, and we're close. and she has bad, bad days.

 

she's been getting worse.

 

today, i had to call 911 to take her to the hospital.

 

in the interim, one of my aunts managed to convince my mom that i am trying to kill her (because i helped schedule her therapy appointments, and my mom is on anti-depressants, which is somehow my fault).


in general, i feel incredibly stressed and closed-in in my family environment. i need help to escape a toxic situation where i am unable to flourish. i can't be a nurse to my mom anymore as it is hurting both her health and mine. 

 

it is just me and my cat.

 

i need this money to do the following:

1. rent a u-box pod for storage and move all my stuff out immediately

2. repair my car's immediate problems

3. get car insurance under my name (i've been sharing it with my mom)

4. pay off some immediate debt

5. leave.

 

i have set the amount to $7k which is me erring on the side of caution--my car is old, and it might break down in transit. i have 3 months left of unemployment and then i will absolutely find a job, but in the meantime, i need all the help i can get.
