What is “NIGHTMARE ON ESTROGEN STREET”?

“Nightmare on Estrogen Street” is an edgy, adult animated comedy series that centers on BIG RED, the wild and hilarious “Menstruation Fairy!” It’s outrageous, uproarious, and a little bit shocking, created by Hollywood writers, Marilyn Anderson & Richard Rossner.

Every episode, Big Red shows up at that time of the month – dropping into awkward dates, first periods, hookups gone wrong, swim meets, dances, and even childbirth. Sometimes she helps, sometimes she makes things worse, and sometimes she just stirs the pot. From cramps to chaos, each episode explores how this totally normal biological process can turn life upside down—in the funniest, wildest ways possible.

How the Nightmare Begins — with the Pilot Episode!

The pilot episode starts with a sorority girl, BARRIE, having a bad day. Her favorite white skirt suddenly looks like a crime scene! She runs to the bathroom cursing her period all the way. When she gets to the stall, BIG RED suddenly materializes out of the red muck. She says she's sick and tired of being hated – she’s hated when girls GET their periods… and she’s hated when they DON’T get it! They call her names: THE CURSE, UNWELL, ON THE RAG, SHARK WEEK and BLOODY MARY. After centuries of being blamed, hated and unappreciated, Big Red quits. She leaves to go on “permanent vacation!”

Barrie immediately stops getting her period… and all her sorority sisters stop getting theirs, too! In fact, women all over the world stop getting it! No periods. No pregnancies. Just panic and global chaos… because no one knows what’s going on!

After Big Red disappears, Barrie and her boyfriend, RICO, must go find her—he boldly dives into where “no man has gone before” (okay, men have gone there, but never with their whole body!) The two of them enter her “cha cha” to find the world where Big Red has retreated. (Think two miniature people going through a Venice canal – only this time, they’re going through a vaginal canal!)

While Barrie and Rico are on the inside, the sorority girls are on the outside – doing chants and incantations to help bring Big Red back.

When Big Red finally does return, springing forth from the toilet like Venus on the Half Shell, we will continue to see her in each episode as she visits various young women in different situations.

Humor and outrageousness make videos, TV & films popular—and that’s what we want to do with the animated series, "Nightmare on Estrogen Street." For those who know the adult animated series “Big Mouth”—which is about boys and puberty—this is the female version.

It’s time women had a series of their own! Menstruation is a natural part of life, yet it’s often an embarrassing subject or taboo! It’s something all women deal with for decades! OMG, it’s the reason humanity exists… and how you were born! So, why should it be weird or bizarre to discuss it… or even celebrate it?!

"Vagina Monologues" was a hit play around the world and proved that these topics can be talked about openly—with people loving it. Now, it’s time for “Nightmare on Estrogen Street" to be a hit series around the globe, with viewers loving it! And sharing it!
