Help Nicté recover from an attempted femicide

Donation protected
In early November Nicté went out to a party in Mexico City, not thinking that her life would be in danger. Missing for over 24 hours, her closest friends started looking for her in desperation. They found her with serious stab wounds, evidence of having been raped, and under the influence of a memory-altering drug. Once she regained full consciousness, she no recollection of events, however all signs indicated that she was a victim of an attempted femicide.

Nicté was so close to becoming one of the 10 women killed daily in Mexico, as reflected in a 2021 report by Amnesty International.

We are raising money for her to pay for the two operations she needed to save her life, the subsequent hospital-stay, medicine/supplies and therapies needed in her physical and psychological recovery. This adds up to over $300,000 Mexican Pesos ($15,000 USD). We are also raising money to help pay for her rent and bills during the several months of her recovery when she will be unable to work. She has no direct family to help her and we, her friends, are her only support system.

Nicté is a well-loved and respected member of her community, and has dedicated much of her life and creative energy to victims of sexual and physical violence. Now, we're looking to help her out of this difficult situation.
