NICOLE IS IN THE FIGHT OF HER LIFE—LET’S HELP HER CONQUER CANCER!!
Friends, fellow equestrians and professional horsemen and women, one of our own needs our help, and she needs it right now! Nicole herself has helped many others in times of need - from CA fire victims- both two and four legged; rescue groups for dogs and horses; organized fundraisers for abused and neglected horses and has rescued, adopted and fostered countless dogs and horses over the years. Now it’s our turn to give back to Nicole, one of our own, and raise the $20,000 it will take to pay the deductibles, out of pocket yearly maxes and the estimated two month recovery time after her potentially lifesaving surgery .
NICOLE’S STORY
Our dear friend, Nicole Chastain Price, of Nicole Chastain Training Stables located in the Santa Ynez Valley, CA, is a lifelong horse lover, Dressage/Western Dressage/ Working Equitation Rider, Trainer and Judge, professional barn manager, wife to Brad Price and mom and rescuer to many furry creatures. Nicole has been involved with horses since she was a little girl and has loved and lived Dressage and the foundation it provides to both horses and riders and has devoted her life to educating herself to provide guidance for her horse and human clients. She has made her living over the past 20 some years training, showing and rehabilitating horses. She depends on her body to be strong and healthy in order to be able to support her family, both two and four legged. She surely never expected to be in the fight of her life against an aggressive, potentially metastatic cancer.
Shockingly, at 47 years young, healthy, vegan and non smoking, Nicole was recently diagnosed with a very rare form of Sarcoma, a cancer so rare that it accounts for only 2% of all new Cancer diagnosis each year!!!! To make matters worse, the tumor is located on the inside of her upper thigh, right where her leg makes contact with the saddle, which has made riding very painful and at times impossible. Although she is still working and teaching her very dedicated clients, as well as continuing her judging commitments, she is now undergoing 25 radiation treatments and facing a very invasive surgery thereafter. Unfortunately, a spot was also found on her lung that may or may not represent a metastasis of the Sarcoma.
The surgery tentatively scheduled for mid February (depending on tissue healing time necessary after the radiation) will result in some serious down time, which will cause a tremendous financial hardship for her and her family. As if that isn’t bad enough, because Nicole was diagnosed in November 2019 and treatment had to be started immediately due to the fast growth rate of the tumor, Brad and Nicole have to pay very high yearly insurance deductibles, as well as the out of pocket yearly maximums, for both 2019 and 2020 back to back in a very short time period.

Nicole is trying to stay positive and credits her horses and her career for giving her strength, making her tough, fit and self sufficient and teaching her to never quit or give up, but this diagnosis has thrown her for a loop. Nicole is accustomed to giving help, not asking for it, which is why Christina and I have created this Go Fund Me campaign to help our friend, and your colleague, to beat this devastating cancer diagnosis. All her energy needs to go into the fight without the worry of having the funds to pay mounting medical bills. So let’s all show her she is not alone in her battle!! Please donate to her fund. No amount is too small. It all helps get us to our goal!!!
Christina and I are stepping up to the plate! Who is with us?
