I am getting married in 5 weeks to the love of my life! Unfortunately, I recently broke my leg and am in a full leg cast.
We are having a low-budget wedding that we are paying for and planning ourselves. Now it's looking like my medical bills amount to more than the wedding expenses, which are due at the same time.
I want to get the best help I can so I can recover in time to be able to walk on my wedding day, without having to cancel any of the wedding plans.
How it happened:
I broke my left tibia while playing roller derby. It was a jump move that I have done many times before, but this time was executed poorly due to exhaustion and muscle fatigue. I landed badly then fell, resulting in a spiral fracture.
I requested a ride to the hospital, but due to the insurance policy I was required to go by ambulance. I had an ER visit with X-ray, was put in a splint and referred to an orthopedist. The result was 6-7 weeks in the cast. I have had three orthopedist appointments so far, 2 x-rays and have an appointment coming up for another x-ray. My cast is expected to come off 1-2 weeks before the wedding. I will then need physical therapy to relieve muscle weakness and stiffness.
I have health insurance, but even with coverage the ambulance and ER visit was over $2000.00. I have not gotten bills yet for my orthopedist appointments, but I know my insurance will not cover the amount of x-rays I need. I am asking for donations to help me cover:
-Ambulance ride
-Additional x-rays
-Physical Therapy
Your support is greatly appreciated. Thanks for reading!
