SCROLL DOWN TO READ ABOUT EACH DOG.
My name is Nicole Levasseur (Ghandour). I’ve been living and teaching abroad for the past eight years, working in private schools across Cairo. Throughout my time here, animal rescue has become more than a passion—it’s been a calling.
With no formal funding or support, I’ve dedicated a significant part of my own salary to rescuing, feeding, and caring for stray animals. I’ve established feeding stations throughout the city to ensure that as many animals as possible receive the nourishment and compassion they deserve.
Right now, I’m trying to raise funds to get two very special dogs out of Egypt—dogs who have suffered greatly and for whom there is little to no hope of ever finding a safe, loving, and responsible home here. The reality on the ground is heartbreaking. Shelters are overcrowded, resources are scarce, and the chances of a better life for these dogs within Egypt are slim.
Getting them out means giving them a real future—one where they’ll be loved, cared for, and treated as family.
If you’re able to contribute or share this cause, it would mean the world to me—and to them.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you for supporting rescue and giving hope to these beautiful doggies!
With Love,
Nicole
Tito’s Tale: From the Desert to a New Destiny ✨
Out near the desert outskirts between Cairo and New Capital Cairo, a goofy little mixed-breed pup was dropped by car into a world that wasn’t always kind. His owners left a small helpless puppy in the middle of nowhere.
Meet Tito.
At just 8–10 months old, Tito has already survived more than most dogs ever should. He was attacked by larger dogs. He was hit by a tricycle. He learned far too early how tough life could be. And yet — somehow — his joyful, silly spirit never dimmed.
When Tito was rescued, everything changed.
He moved into a dog hotel where he’s now safe, cared for, and working hard every day on rehabilitation and obedience training. And let’s just say… he’s thriving. He’s clean, clever, and incredibly affectionate. Staff and visitors alike have fallen in love with his famous sideways run and his endlessly goofy personality. He has that special kind of energy that makes you laugh without even trying.
Tito gets along beautifully with female dogs and is amazing with kids. Because of his past trauma, he’s still a little unsure around larger male dogs — but with patience and love, he continues to grow more confident every day.
Originally, the plan was to return Tito to the desert once he recovered. But it’s become so clear that this sweet boy is meant for more. He’s meant for a home. A couch. A family. A life where he is protected, cherished, and deeply loved.
Now, we need your help to give him that future.
We are currently:
Looking for a loving adopter
Looking for a sponsor to support his stay at the doggie hotel
✈️ Preparing, if he finds a home abroad, to raise funds for his flight so he can travel safely to his forever family
Tito is ready. Ready to bring laughter. Ready to bring loyalty. Ready to bring his sideways zoomies into someone’s life.
He survived the desert. Now he deserves his destiny.
If you can sponsor, adopt, share his story, or contribute toward his care and future travel, you are directly changing this resilient boy’s life.
Thank you for believing in Tito.
Rocco’s Rescue Story
Out in the desert of New Capital Cairo, on a rainy day that felt a little too quiet, we found a sweet soul who needed us more than ever.
Rocco couldn’t walk.
He was helpless, scared, and sitting alone in the sand as the rain fell around him. The moment Nicole saw him, she and a friend jumped into action. There was no hesitation — only love and urgency. They scooped him up, wrapped him in warmth, and promised him he was safe.
For four long hours, Rocco sat calmly in the car while we called every vet we could find. Every single one was fully booked that day. Not exactly what you want to hear during an emergency. But Rocco, being the brave little gentleman he is, stayed quiet and sweet the entire time — as if he understood we were trying our best.
With nowhere else to turn, our final option was to check him into the same dog hotel where Tito is staying. On February 23rd, 2026, Rocco got a cozy temporary room of his own. He is safe, dry, calm, and showing everyone just how incredibly gentle and loving he is.
He has a doctor’s appointment scheduled for February 26th. We’ll update everyone as soon as we have a clear diagnosis. Our biggest hope is that this isn’t permanent damage — because we would love nothing more than to heal him and reunite him with his pack. If it turns out to be permanent, we’ll create a new plan filled with just as much love and determination.
Right now, we need help covering:
• His stay at the dog hotel
• His veterinary exams and medical care
• Any treatment he may need
Rocco has already shown us how strong and sweet he is. Now he just needs a community behind him.
If you can donate, share, or simply send good thoughts — it all makes a difference. Thank you for helping us give this desert boy a second chance.
