Hi, my name is Nicole. I’m a single mom of three, and I’m doing everything I can to protect my family’s safety, emotional health, and long-term stability.

After nearly a year of navigating a high-conflict custody and divorce case, I’ve already paid out over $37,500 in legal fees. $8,500 of that came from the generosity of my parents—who simply can’t afford to help any further. The rest came from my own hard work, savings, and personal loans.

Now, to move forward with trial in October, I’ve been told I must pay a $20,000 retainer by July 12. I’ve exhausted every resource I have left.

This case isn’t just about legal paperwork—it’s about securing peace and protection for my children, all three of whom are currently in trauma-focused therapy. I’m in therapy too. That’s four people in one household trying to heal and rebuild, while I simultaneously manage school responsibilities, medical needs, and every aspect of their care—alone.

I’ve covered therapy, dental emergencies, IEP meetings, co-pays, and the full weight of running our household—often without reimbursement or shared support. I’ve done it while also trying to grow a small business from the ground up.

This legal process has been emotionally and financially exhausting. But I’m not giving up. I can’t. Because my kids deserve stability, safety, and a future free of fear.
