I never thought I would be here—writing these words, asking for help for my sister. My sister's name is Nicole, and recently her entire world was turned upside down with three devastating words: “You have cancer.”

From her own heart to anyone that reads this.

Since that moment, nothing has been the same. Every day is filled with fear, painful treatments, long nights, and moments where I’m fighting not just for my health, but for the strength to keep going. Lung cancer has taken so much from me already—my energy, my stability, my ability to work like I do—and it's trying to take my peace, too.

I’m doing everything I can to stay hopeful, to push through every scan and every treatment, but the financial strain is becoming heavier than I can carry. I’m falling behind on bills while trying to keep up with medical costs, and it’s terrifying to feel like you’re fighting for your life while also worrying about losing your family's stability.

I’ve always been someone who tried to handle things on my own. Asking for help feels vulnerable and scary. But right now, I don’t have a choice—I need help to keep going. I am scheduled on December 16th to have sections of my right lung removed. I will be in the hospital for up to 5 days and need a few days to recover. I am currently on FMLA through work, and I was just informed they dropped me to part time without my knowledge and took all my benefits from me. I am at a loss.
