Final Year, Final Hurdle - Help Nicole Finish Her Degree

Dear Village,
My name is Nicole Moyo, and I write to you with a humble heart. I am a senior at Trinity Washington University in Washington, D.C., majoring in Education. Originally from South Africa, I came here with faith, determination, and a dream—to become the first in my family to graduate college.

For the past three years, I’ve poured myself into learning and serving. I’ve kept a 3.9 GPA overall, with a 4.0 over the past two semesters, even while balancing internships, leadership roles, and community work. I have been on the Dean’s List every semester of my college career.

Here are a few milestones from my journey that I’m most proud of:
  • Chosen for the TIAA Early Talent Program, where I built leadership skills that shaped my career path.
  • Interned at powerhouse company PwC, supporting organizations that serve youth and families.
  • Served as a United Nations Fellow and Delegate, where I spent 6 months of deep research on educational policy, and co-led a panel on gender-based violence and justice for 200+ attendees.
  • Interned at the Cato Institute’s Sphere Education Initiatives, designing tools to make civic education more inclusive for neurodivergent learners.
  • Worked on campus as a Career Services Student Coordinator, helping my peers secure internships and career opportunities.
  • Named Social Action Chair for Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., I assisted in organizing health campaigns, and civic engagement events.
Each of these experiences has been preparing me to use my education as a tool for justice—especially for children and families who need it most.

⚠️ The Challenge
Up until now, my sponsor fully covered my tuition. But this summer, I learned that they could nolonger be able to fund my tuition any further —leaving me with an unexpected $17,000 tuition balance, and the University unable to assist in filling the gap with so little notice.
I now face this urgent debt. As an international student, I don’t qualify for federal aid, and while I work on campus, my income is not enough to meet this new demand.
Unless I resolve this balance by November 2025, I won’t be able to register for my final semester, and my May 2026 graduation will be out of reach.

Ways You Can Walk With Me
Every gift is a seed, and together those seeds will help me cross the finish line. Here’s how your support makes a difference:
  • $25—Supporter: Books and supplies for class
  • $50—Encourager: Technology fees and course materials
  • $100—Advocate: A portion of a credit hour
  • $250—Champion: Getting me through to the next semester
  • $500—Builder: Close to getting that balance down to ZERO
  • ✨ $1,000—Legacy Donor: Life-changing impact, I’m on my way to GRADUATION!!

No amount is too small. Whether you give $10 or $1,000, every contribution sows into my future and ensures I can finish what I started.
If you are unable to give financially, I ask that you share this campaign with your community and keep me in your prayers for endurance, wisdom, and provision.

Closing
Village, this degree is not just mine—it belongs to everyone who has cheered me on, prayed for me, and believed in me. It represents breaking barriers, building community, and pouring back into the children and families I will serve.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you for standing with me. Your generosity—whether through giving, sharing, or praying—is a living testimony that dreams do come true.

With gratitude and faith,
Nicole Moyo
