Help Nicole & Her Small Business

My name is Nicole and I have a small business called Spot Colors. I design and make, by hand, modern counted cross stitch kits.

I have created this GoFundMe to raise funds to help my business (and myself) survive & grow. The past year has been really really hard for most small businesses, seeing less and less sales. Even the 2024 holiday season was significantly slower than any year I have had before.

Since 2020 my business has been mostly my full time job. But now it is not providing anything close to full time income. In addition, my other career in the film industry is also significantly slow and I haven't been able to get a freelance job since January 2023. These freelance jobs are key support during slow seasons of my business.

On the business side, sales are super slow now, but there is growth coming and big opportunities I am working on.

The biggest project coming: Make 2,500 cross stitch kits by mid April

These kits will be brand new from one of our licenses and be released to the public in the Spring.

In addition, we have a book coming out in August.

I have mostly given up hopes of renting a business space (as previously mentioned in a Kickstarter that didn't pan out).

The funds will be used to pay my home rent, keep the lights on and keep supplies on hand to prepare for these big opportunities.
