I'd like you to meet Nicole, my wife. She is 48 years old, strong, beautiful woman and a devoted mom. She has recently been diagnosed with with a rare cancer. She has large B cell Lymphoma. Its has been a long 6 months of hospitalizations (4 to be exact) and tests. This unfortunately is her second cancer in the last four years. It started with severe anemia, then a small bowel obstruction, surgery and then the devastating news of this Lymphoma. Which was found in and around her small intestine. The surgery to remove the tumor and small intestine resection resulted in two more emergency surgeries to repair an intestinal leak as the first surgery did not hold. Nicole ended up with sepsis and put on a ventilator to help her body heal. This lead her to a new surgical wound of her abdomen. It was so very hard on me and her daughter to see her in this sedated state and condition. She was in the ICU for many days. When she was finally released to go home she had visiting nurses at home for wound vac changes and PT and OT. She was very weak and not the strong woman I had known.

Nicole has been the one who helps others in their time of need. She has enjoyed her job working with veterans at a local nursing home. She has a supportive work family and many friends.

When in the hospital about an hour after getting her ventilator out, her family came to tell her that her beloved mother had passed away early that morning. Nicole had a hard time processing that and tried to remain strong as she could to do everything to get out of the hospital to help her family grieve and for herself to begin the mourning process of her beautiful and caring mother.

Nicole recently had her first chemo treatment and has many more to come. She will lose all of her hair, but will remain that beautiful, caring and strong individual that I know and love. We will help her get through this so eventually she can get back to work and day to day life.

She is on medical leave without pay. As you can imagine our financial needs have changed and we could use help with her medical bills and other household expenses. So she can focus entirely on healing and being present with her family. Funds raised will go directly towards living expenses, travel to treatments and tests, and medical bills during this difficult time.

Nicole is strong, hardworking, and deeply loved by everyone who knows her. With your kindness and generosity, we believe she can get through this and celebrate many more birthdays with her friends and family.
