Over 25 years ago, something happened that changed my life forever. At a horse auction, Atlantis chose me. I was bidding against a meat buyer. I couldn’t let him go to slaughter. There was something about him… something that said this horse matters. And from that moment on, he became more than just a horse. He became my constant. Through every hardship, every joy, every chapter of my life… Atlantis has been there. People talk about having a bond with their horse. But this was different. He is truly one in a million. I’ve had other horses throughout my life—but there has only ever been one Atlantis.

Our connection is something that can’t be explained, only felt.

Now, I’m facing the hardest decision of my life. Atlantis is nearing 40 years old, and his body is telling me it’s time. As much as I want one more day, one more ride, one more moment… I love him too much to let him suffer. I need to give him peace. I don’t have land where I can bury him and visit him. I can’t bear the thought of leaving him somewhere I’ll never see again. My goal is to have him cremated, so that one day, when my time comes, we can be together again.

This last year has been incredibly hard. I’ve been working 40+ hours a week while trying to keep my equestrian business running. I’m not someone who asks for help—but this is something I can’t carry alone. I just want to do right by him one last time.
