I am a Senior student pursuing my degree at Sam Houston State University. This Spring is supposed to be my last semester before graduating but a very unfortunate set of circumstances is making that extremely difficult. My Great Aunt and Uncle, who I consider my grandparents, gave my mother money to put in a 529 for me when I was born. Over my life it accumulated enough money to pay for my Bachelor’s degree. However, 3 weeks ago my mother had a complete mental breakdown. She turned off my phone service, put a stop pay on my Fall Semester tuition, and will not give me access to the remaining amount in my 529. She also confiscated my little sisters' phones so we can’t contact each other. I have until January 6th to pay $5,262 for the previous Fall Semester. Unfortunately, due to the nature of my class schedule, I can’t work enough hours to pay for both school and rent. Your donation will help with rent, tuition, and food. It will also help me to be able to save a bit to support my 17 year old sister when she is able to get away from our mom and come live with me in a year.
