My name is Nicole, and right now, my 3-year-old daughter and I are facing the hardest time of our lives. We recently became homeless after the passing of my ex-husband's grandfather, whom I was living with and helping care for. After he passed away, my ex had the utilities shut off and the house was red tagged, so the police made us leave with only two days' worth of clothes. To make things even harder, I just found out that someone in Indiana used my name, and now I have felony charges on my record, which I believe has prevented me from finding employment.

My son did his best to help by buying me a used truck so I could DoorDash and try to make ends meet. But the day after I got it registered, the steering pump went out and it needs a new rack and pinion. Right now, we are struggling to find a safe place to stay and keep our few belongings safe. Funds from this fundraiser will go toward hotel costs, a storage unit, and parts to fix my truck so I can work and provide for my daughter.

I'm not realistically expecting enough to cover all my needs, but please know that any amount is helpful right now.
