My dear friend Nicole and her family need our help. They are the couple who are always ready to lend a helping hand or provide support to others. Now its is our turn to reciprocate their kindness and offer them a helping hand during this challenging time.

They believed they had taken all the necessary precautions. After the sudden loss of a friend in August, Butch (Walt) and Nicole decided to be proactive and seek a checkup from a cardiologist. This led to a series of extensive tests for Butch, ultimately resulting in a cardiac cath where they discovered seven blockages, three of which were in the “widow maker” category. Unfortunately, they were unable to stent any of these blockages and promptly scheduled him for immediate open-heart bypass surgery. After a grueling 7 hours and four bypasses, he emerged from the surgery and is now embarking on a long recovery journey. As always, they adhered to all the recommended protocols and promptly applied for temporary disability, which, to this day, remains pending (10 weeks after the application). Utilizing their savings from January and February, they are now facing financial difficulties. The uncovered medical bills, which commenced with the new year and new deductible, have started to arrive. The ICU expenses alone amounted to $102,000.00, which was not all covered by insurance and they are also grappling with monthly expenses.
