Help Nicole, a First-Gen PhD Candidate attend conferences
Donation protected
My name is Nicole Correri and I am a PhD Candidate in the Religion Department at Boston University. I am currently in my dissertation phase and also recently accepted to two important conferences in my fields of study, British Association for Islamic Studies (BRAIS) and International Society for Media, Religion and Culture (ISMRC). As a first-generation woman graduate student completing my PhD in the field of Religion it is important to recognize that only 39% of us achieve our PhD’s. Your support in providing the resources to attend these important academic conferences will help enhance the discipline and expand the varied voices in academia. In addition, my research is at the intersection of in Islamic studies, gender studies, and digital religion helping to bring broader understandings of religion in the digital age with an important focus on the impact of gender. Your support to allow me to pay for travel, accommodations, and fees is so greatly appreciated. If you have any questions I could answer, please do reach out. Thank you.
