Hello Everyone,

My name is Gloria. I am reaching out to ask for prayers, love and support for my cousins son Nicolas. Nicolas is 7 years old. He was diagnosed with cerebral dysplasia which is an abnormal brain cell development, often leading to seizures and neurological challenges. Not only does he face challenges because of the epilepsy but he is also on the autism spectrum. He is a strong and special little boy who has been through a lot of challenges in his life at such a young age.

On June 26, 2025 he had a major brain surgery called corpus callosotomy. This procedure was done in hopes of reducing the severity and frequency of seizures when antiseizure medications do not help. The procedure involves a careful surgical cut of band of fibers ( the corpus callosum ) connecting the two halves of your brain. A corpus callosotomy is one of several different types of epilepsy surgery. Healthcare providers usually reserve this type of surgery for people with severe epilepsy.

Nicolas is still having some difficulties post surgery. He had to get a blood transfusion because he became anemic from the surgical procedure. He needs constant monitoring by a nurse and was put on medication to help with the swelling of his brain. He might need a second surgery if the medication does not help the swelling go down.

I am starting this GoFundMe to help ease the financial burden so my cousin and her husband can focus on being there for Nicolas without the added stress of how everything will be covered.
