On Wednesday afternoon, July 30th, our beloved brother, son, father, and friend, Nico Hernandez, was involved in a devastating motorcycle accident just outside of Reno, Nevada. He was on his way to the Sturgis Tattoo Expo, where he was scheduled to work his booth, doing what he loves most; sharing his art and connecting with others to provide for himself and his children. Tragically, he never made it.
While riding, Nico’s motorcycle malfunctioned, causing him to lose control. He was thrown over 100 yards from his bike. The impact left him with a concussion, seizures, a broken wrist, a fractured neck, a sprained elbow, and extensive road rash across his arms, back, and legs.
An angel was watching over him, and he was saved by two nurses and a doctor (none of whom knew each other), who just so happened to be traveling near this deserted area. They performed lifesaving care on the side of the road while they contacted emergency medical and waited for the ambulance. He was immediately rushed to the ICU, where he received urgent, life-saving care. We are incredibly grateful that he survived, but his journey toward recovery is just beginning.
Due to the severity of his injuries, Nico is unable to walk alone, feed himself, care for himself, and, most importantly, he's unable to work for the foreseeable future. As an independent artist, he relies on his events, tattoo work, and booth appearances for income, not just for himself but for his three beautiful children. With medical bills, daily living expenses, and ongoing therapy and rehabilitation ahead, the financial burden is overwhelming.
We’re asking for your support to help Nico cover:
• Emergency and ongoing medical expenses
• Physical therapy and rehabilitation
• Lost income during his recovery
• Basic living expenses until he can safely return to work
