Meet Nicholas (Nico), a resilient 29-year-old who has recently faced two life-altering events. In the past month, Nicholas was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes, a condition requiring constant management and care. Just as the dust was settling and he was getting himself situated to this major transition, a catastrophic fire engulfed his apartment building, leaving Nicholas without a home and personal belongings. Not only dealing with his health battle, now he is dealing with this loss from the fire and adjusting to life with Type 1 Diabetes is not easy and involves regular insulin administration, continuous blood sugar monitoring, and adhering to a strict diet. As life moves forward, dealing with his health issues is already challenging, and the added stress of losing all his basic and personal belongings in the fire is the last thing he needed on his plate. Unfortunately his renters insurance had lapsed so he is responsible for all new belongings and of course all his cherished and personal valuables can not be replaced. We are reaching out to compassionate individuals to help navigate these overwhelming challenges. Donations will directly assist in securing new housing, replacing all lost belongings, medical necessities, furniture, bedding, and all the things you forget to think of in order to make a house a home like the one before.
