Help Nico Pay his Medical and Household Bills

Hi, my name is Nico. I was recently hurt at work. I have just found out I have two herniated discs in my spine. I am unable to work now and often unable to do my daily tasks. I am struggling to pay my bills, such as rent and food. I also have expected medical bills. I am needing to get a cane as soon as possible, as well. Anything will help, thank you so much.

7/17 Update: I had emergency back surgery a week ago. I am settling back in at home but in lots of pain. I cannot afford the pain meds prescribed to me nor any doctors appointments going forward.

8/6 Update: I had an MRI done this weekend due to my back pain worsening after surgery. I was able to get the cost covered by the hospital, but they will be sending me an additional bill. My hospital bills keep rising, but honestly it seems like a pipe dream for them to ever get paid off. The money being donated is going to out of pocket costs such as medication. It is also going towards household bills and keeping food on the table. I applied for food stamps and disability and every other government assistance that I could, several months ago. I have yet to be approved for any of these, so currently ends are barely being met. My bank account is now empty after paying the bills this month and I do not have anymore money coming in. My lovely partner Jo is working but not making a livable wage. They are working on getting a better job. We live on the second floor of our apartment, so I am never able to leave the house (I have only left for the MRI). The goal is to move somewhere better (and not infested with roaches) in January when the lease is up, but the goal seems too far out of reach. I was told I will have to get another back surgery. Unfortunately, it seems as though getting to be healthy is not in the near future. But with enough support, it might be able to be sooner than later.

11/9 Update: Things are really bad. The roaches have made our home nearly unlivable, yet the apartment has done nothing to help. I leave the house about twice a week due to still being on the second floor. I saw a new surgeon a week or so ago and he is recommending I get a spinal fusion asap. I am unsure of how to do this in our current living situation. Jo got a new job that we thought pays more, but the salary is prorated throughout the school year, so they end up making less than the last job. They are starting their career and it will work out eventually. But the current situation is really bad and scary. I have tried applying for so many jobs and I went to a disability job fair that wasn’t even helpful. I am working on selling art for money, but still figuring out how to get it out there to market. I am in so much pain and am really scared for our living situation. Please help if you can.
