My name is Nico Martin, I'm a 20 year old trans dude and I need top surgery!! I'm most of the way to my goal already, I just need help with the final push to get me over the finish line. I haven't started my consultations yet, but I'll update when I get that ball rolling.
A bit about me:
- I'm a third year college student at UH Mānoa, I'm majoring in Digital Cinema with a minor in American Sign Language. I plan to graduate in Fall 2026 and I would love to have my surgery before that.
- I have two birds and I love to draw and play the Sims 4.
- I'm getting back on testosterone after having to come off it for a few months :)
- I have a best friend who is the best person ever and has been with me every step of my transition, she helps with my T and we plan to have her take care of me in recovery.
Goal breakdown:
- The basic goal for the surgery is about $10,000 not including any surprise expenses.
- I will also have expenses for post-op supplies including but not limited to: compression binders (not always needed, but not always included by the dr.), wound care and scar management items, etc.
- I will also be without income for about 6 weeks while I recover, so I'm saving to cover any expenses/bills I have while I can't work. I'm not sure yet what my living situation will be like at the time of surgery, but it's possible that expenses could include rent and utilities if I've moved out by then.
