Help Nico get Gender Affirming Care!

I started this GoFundme in hopes to raise money for my fiancé, Nico Domingos.

Nico Domingos is one of the least selfish people I've ever met. In his early 20's he served in the United States Army from 2014-2019, 15u as a CH-47 mechanic, and 15g as airframe repair. Currently, he is a parent of 2 amazing kids and works full time in retail. On the weekends, he performs in drag shows as a drag king at our local gay bar.

As you know, being a full parent is hard, and is even tougher being Trans. Since coming out, he has faced difficulties living in a red state. His last job prior to his current retail employment, terminated his position due to him coming out as Trans. Unfortunately since he is a retired vet with military insurance, his insurance does not cover any of his gender affirming care. The military sees this procedure as cosmetic so it is not a priority for them to cover.

Recently, he had a consultation with one of the best surgeons for Gender Affirming Care in the midwest. We were so excited to make the trip to Ohio to finally get an answer for how much it would cost out of pocket, since insurance does not cover his care. We finally saved enough money for the downpayment to receive a date for surgery which is exciting, yet scary! His surgery date is in November and that means we have to start pinching pennies in an already tight combined income.

We will be hosting a benefit show, our lovely friends in the tattoo industry are also putting together flash sheets to help raise money as well. We are lucky to have so many lovely people in our life that want to see Nico happy, healthy and loving his body. That being said, the surgery is $10,000 out of pocket. We have been able to save a few thousand towards surgery but only have 6 months to save the rest. With your help, we are hoping to make the deadline for this life changing procedure.
