In Honor of Billy: Help Nicky Through This Difficult Time
Donativo protegido
Our hearts were forever broken last Thursday. Our dear friend Billy Russo unexpectedly passed away at the age of 51 from a heart attack. We are all deeply saddened by his sudden passing.
Billy was known for his happy-go-lucky attitude, an infectious smile/laugh, and his notorious catchphrase “Very Nice.” He was always ready to lend a helping hand or say some positive words that you needed to hear.
Until recently, Billy had spent his whole life as a painter, running his own business ‘Billy Russo Painting’ and then working in the Painters Union at Boston Paint. In 2023, Billy courageously decided to change careers and went back to school to become a trucker. He was most recently employed as a Class A CDL driver for Mass Pavement and JGB Material out of Marshfield. With his renewed passion and love for the job, Billy strived for more. He would constantly ask his coworkers for feedback and instruction, always wanting to do better. He recently acquired his hydraulics license to become a hoisting engineer to further his position in the company. He was even the recipient of the “Positivity” award from his employer, which he took so much pride in that it was stashed in his drawer of very important documents. That just goes to show what type of person Billy was.
Outside of work, Billy had many hobbies, most of which included spending time with his friends. From weekend get-togethers, the Lafayette Club, motorcycle rides, car shows, annual camping trips, and vacations, Billy was always there to welcome you with a hug and a handshake. At home, Billy loved to meticulously care for his beautiful yard, manicure his bonsai trees, sit by his koi pond or fire pit, and play with his dogs Matilda and Phoebe. He also enjoyed collecting automobile/sign memorabilia, having acquired an amazing collection of license plates that would make any man jealous. He deeply cared about the people and things he surrounded himself with.
Although, nothing can compare to the love he had for his best friend and long-term fiancé Nicky. After nearly 20 years together, her life has forever changed. In this time of deep grief and uncertainty, we want to make sure she knows that her village is here.
Funds will be going directly to Nicky as she navigates the transition from a dual-income to a single-income household. Any financial support you’re able to give will make a real and lasting difference during this extremely difficult time.
Thank you for being part of the community that loved Billy. Your kindness, love, and support mean more than words can say.
