Help Nicky & Chase Overcome Medical Emergencies

Donation protected
Hi, We're Stacy & Melissa. Our fur babies Nicky & Chase both had medical emergencies in the last week requiring surgery. 10/25/24 Nicky was diagnosed with a tumor behind his eye which requires surgery asap to remove his right eye and the tumor (set for 11/12/24). 6 days later on Halloween, Chase was outside playing when all of a sudden he was basically paralyzed. Thinking he had a stroke or was poisoned we rushed to the ER. All tests were negative and he needed to see a neurologist ASAP the next morning for a MRI, suspecting brain or spinal cord involvement. Turns out he injured himself. He had a rupture cervical disc C3-C4 that was compressing his spinal cord 40 %! He had surgery 2 hours after the MRI. Our vet bills are nearing $20,000 so I started a second job this week. Unfortunately we did not have pet insurance. We typically paid out of pocket for all other procedures they've had until this point and did not anticipate 2 emergencies so close together. Please- get pet insurance before you end up like us! You cannot predict an emergency (or 2 at the same time....). We appreciate any amount donated or just a share would mean a lot to us.

History:

Nicky (our tiniest 6 lb chihuahua) is around 8 years old and was rescued from PPPR as a bonded pair with his brother Jax. They suffered horrific abuse before being rescued. They were thin, had skin conditions, and mouth infections so bad 35/42 of Nicky's teeth had to be removed. He has been spoiled rotten since rescued and goes to work every day with his mom! He is very quiet and calm. For weeks we didn't know he could even bark! We've had him for 2 years and he deserves more good years in life than bad.

Chase is 6 years old. He lived with my sister for a few years who rescued him from the streets and was never claimed. When she text me that she could no longer keep him (he's a high energy anxious dog in a condo and she also had an infant then) we raced to pick him up that same night. We thought we would find him a home as we just rescued Nicky and Jax (and already had Tootie, our 17 year old dog). But...we fell in love with him. He has thrived having a big yard and siblings to play with. We've had him for 1.5 years.
