From Elaine:
On September 25, we lost my dad after a battle with Alzheimer's and frontotemporal dementia. In the last two weeks of his life, Dad was on hospice at home, and he was comatose from the 21st until he passed peacefully on the 25th. We were giving him round the clock care to ensure his last days were comfortable and filled with love.
Now that the dust is settling, we are starting to see the expenses piling up. The cost of final arrangements, the celebration of life, unpaid days off work, and what wasn't covered under his Medicare for supplies and replacing things are hitting us hard. Any help would be appreciated.
My dad was a wonderful man, and his loss will be felt through the rest of our lives. Thank you all for being a part of his life and ours.
Love,
Elaine
