Help Nick's Battle with Cancer

Hello everyone, my name is Patty Roberto, and I am fundraising for my brother-in-law Nick Roberto.

For those who haven't had the pleasure of Nick's wicked sarcasm, his unrelenting love for his wife Tonia

and his children Nicholas, Anthony, Dion, and Carmella,

please let me fill you in on his story.

First of all, Nick is a Type 1 juvenile diabetic, meaning his pancreas does not produce enough insulin.

He started feeling sick in February 2022, was hospitalized several times in March, and after numerous tests in DuBois and Pittsburgh, he was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in April.

His doctors discussed performing a Whipple surgical procedure. But first, they had him go through 4 rounds of 3-week chemotherapy over the last 6 months to hopefully shrink or minimize the tumor's growth.

At this point, Nick and his doctors are prepping for the surgery, scheduled for November 3.

Needless to say, this diagnosis has been devasting for the entire family. We all continue to hope and pray for the best possible outcome.

While Tonia continues to work her full-time job at Penn Highlands Healthcare (as well as a part-time job), Nick has been unable to work since the spring.

We are asking friends and family to help with the considerable and continuous hospital expenses. Any and all contributions are gratefully appreciated as we gather the family together to support Nick and his loved ones.
