Hello, my name is Nickey Simpson. I really hate asking for help, but we’re in a situation where we could really use the love & support.

I am a mom of 4 lovely babies, one of which I just had 7 weeks ago. I found out 5/21/25 that I have Adenocarcinoma of the lung, Stage IV. It has metastasize to my liver, sternum, and spine. My life has been turned upside & I will start chemo treatments this week.

I was hospitalized because I had cardiac tamponade, clots in my lungs & lesions on my liver. Which all turned out to be associated with cancer, I am currently still at the hospital and fluid around my heart is being drained, I’ve had 3 surgeries & cannot start chemo until they remove the drain from around my heart.

With all of this to say, my husband works (doesn’t qualify for family medical leave.) & used his 6 weeks off for postpartum, not expecting this, and now we’re left with no paid time off. We’re hoping for some help just to get us through, until my husband hits his one year mark of being at his job (July) and can take 3 months off paid.
