Dear Friends, Family & Our Close School Communities,
I’m reaching out today to ask for your help in supporting my dear friend Nickira, who was recently diagnosed with cancer.
While her cancer was thankfully caught early and is treatable, the financial burden of treatment is significant. As a young mother, Nicka’s priority is always her children but she shouldn’t have to worry about how to keep her household running while she’s healing.
Nicka and I met shortly after I moved to Los Angeles when our second graders became best friends at school. From the very beginning, our afternoons were filled with playdates at Westwood Park starting a friendship that has lasted through every chapter of our kids’ lives.
Nicka is one of the most incredible mothers I know. Even during personal struggles, she always remained calm, loving, and devoted to her children. I am inspired by her strength, optimism, and grace no matter what life throws her way.
Shortly after she gave birth to her fourth baby in December of 2023, her mother was able to leave the war behind and move to Los Angeles to help her daughter.
Now, Nicka is facing one of her biggest challenges yet. Cancer is not a battle she can fight alone. Especially for a mom who is co-parenting 4 babies with heavy lifting. Her treatment plan includes surgery, chemotherapy, and radiation and it will require not just her strength, but the strength and support of her entire community in the upcoming 12 months.
This is where we come in. Let’s rally together and help give Nicka the financial stability she needs during this time so she can focus on her health and her beautiful family. Every dollar counts, and every act of kindness brings her one step closer to recovery.
Nicka, you are always there when we need you and now it’s our turn to show you just how much you mean to us.
Every donation, big or small, makes a difference. Please consider contributing and spreading the word so we can lift Nicka and her family through this challenging journey. Together.
Warmly,
