On Friday the 13th, my brother Nick was in a very serious car accident. His brakes failed, causing him to go through two lights. At the third light, he collided with an oil truck and landed in a bush. Many people on the scene including police officers, bystanders, and city workers did not think he was going to make it. It was one of the scariest moments our family has ever faced. By God’s grace, Nick survived without any brain or spinal damage. While we are beyond grateful for that miracle, he still has a very long road to recovery. He suffered a broken left femur along with two additional fractures in his leg, five broken bones in his left arm, and a broken right hand. He had surgery on the 14th for his left leg and left arm, and we are so thankful it went well. On the 16th he was able to get up and take a few steps up the hall and back. Seeing that progress meant everything to our family. We are so incredibly proud of his strength and determination. Thank you to everyone who has prayed for him, reached out, and shown kindness during this difficult time. Your support truly means the world to us. Nick still has a long recovery ahead, but with faith, love, and support, we know he will keep pushing forward.
