Help Nick to goes back to her house… and my mom too!

I do believe you’ve seen or heard about the floods in Brazil.

But what you might not know is that one of the places where that happened it was my town, where I come from and where I was living for 30 years before I move to Ireland.

That happened where my family is still living.

Half of the town was underwater. So far we have 617,4 thousand people on homeless situation, 42 disappeared and 172 death so far. And those numbers may increase on the next days.

My family is living in that area since the 50” and that never ever happened before and is not a situation where the neighbours or family can help, because they are all facing the same reality.

I also would like to introduce you Nick. She is my dogs family and has been with us for more than 4 years.

Nick was by herself at home when the flood started in my town, back to the 4th of May. My brother tried to rescue her by boat but due the strong water current the government cancelled all boats to rescue people and pets and we couldn’t rescue Nick. At that moment we were all devastated, two days later the water achieved the roof in mostly of the houses per km and km long.

8 days later and almost with no more hopes my brother went by boat to my moms house and for our surprise Nick was there, in between the ceiling and the roof , with half body inside the water, with no food and in the dark. She survived for 8 days on this situation.

Nick has become a symbol of hope, strength and overcoming to our family, but she can’t go back to her home. My mom can’t go back home.

That’s why I’m here today, to ask for your help. After the floods the scenery is catastrophic. We will have to change all the doors, windows, the floor, electrical project, ceiling and roof. The house has no more furniture, beds or kitchen appliances.

And it’s up to me and my brother to help only… and I’m 11k km far away.

Unfortunately Nick has lost her house, I lost all my memories and my mom… my mom at age of 63 she lost everything.

At this moment doesn’t matter how much, every little helps.
