You may be familiar with Nick’s history of brain cancer. After a pretty bad accident and several brain scans, a mass the size of a candy bar was found entangled in Nick’s brain.
Things have been somewhat stable for a few years. Unfortunately…the tumor is growing again. The team of doctors at Northwestern is recommending he take action ASAP. The goal is to restrict the tumor from growing and expanding to the other side of his brain.
Your kind donation will give much-needed relief to the Logan family as Nick goes through several cancer protocols. It will especially help during his 6-week stay in Chicago away from his family.
In 2018-2019 Nick underwent over a year of chemotherapy. He then had brain surgery. The hope was that these treatments combined would remove 80 to 90% of the tumor.
Unfortunately, Nick had 2 major seizures ending the surgery prematurely. They were only able to resect 40%. He had to learn to live with the side effects of an active brain tumor.
Nick had a few years without any real growth of his tumor. As we said earlier, the tumor is very close to crossing over to the other side of his brain and is growing.
The doctors refer to his treatment as a “sandwich approach”.
Over the next 7 months, Nick will undergo…
Phase 1
- 3 months of Oral Chemotherapy
Phase 2
- Daily Proton Radiation (5 days/week for 6 weeks in Chicago, IL)
Phase 3
- 3 months of Oral Chemotherapy
Nick is a selfless and positive person. His family is extremely humbled and appreciative of any support offered.
We are creating this official fundraiser as our family, friends and community have asked for it.
42 is Nick’s lucky number!
We’ve selected $42 as a donation goal because it makes sense, right? Just like cancer, it doesn’t make sense!
Thank you for your kindness, support and prayers!
