Hi, my name is Bradley and I am helping raise funds for our kind and talented friend Nick Kane. Nick is very busy, and is handling a lot right now, and we are helping Nick manage this GoFundMe campaign. Nick has been a stalwart member of his many communities, and often times runs entertaining and enriching programs for kids in both the music festival scene as well as public schools in the LA area, as well as being resource for up and coming filmmakers who wish to borrow sound or lightning equipment. He is also a talented director, and has helped many up and coming artists on their path. Nick offers these services as a labor of love, often for free. I am copy/pasting a message he sent out:
I have had to bury to both of my parents this last month, and it has taken a toll on me and my family in ways I never imagined. The grief has been overwhelming, and while I have been doing my best to stay strong for my brothers and siblings, the emotional weight has affected my ability to work and function at full capacity.
Right now, I am trying to be there for my autistic brother, Dakota, who lived with our mother. He’s struggling with transitioning his Social Security benefits into his own account, and there are red tape hurdles we need to navigate to ensure he can maintain his independence.
As the eldest, I feel a responsibility to help Dakota and be there for my family, but I’m also realizing that I need time to grieve properly. I’ve already taken a lot of time off in August to handle the immediate aftermath of my father’s passing, and now I find myself needing to take some time in October to fully process everything.
It is never easy asking for help, but I’m in a place where I could use some support. If you’re able and willing to contribute financially in any way, or let your community know of this need, it would help me take the time I need to heal and assist Dakota with his transition without the added stress of financial strain. Any amount would make a difference and give me space to focus on what matters most right now plus funds to implement changes in situations that need transitional changes.
Any support you can offer, whether it is time, financial, emotional, or simply holding me in your thoughts helps. Time helping me helps. I may not reach out yet appreciate. I will also be out of LA in Wisconsin for the next few weeks too.
Also, Nick said if you would like you can also contact him directly as well with funds/help!
