Hi Guys - Thanks for checking out Nick’s Water Wheelchair GoFundMe! I’m setting up this fundraiser to help this amazing 11 year old boy get comfortable, full access to his favorite place on earth. The BEACH!
Nick was diagnosed with Duchenne muscular dystrophy at the age of two. Duchenne MD in causes progressive weakness of the muscles, loss of muscle mass and is fatal in boys. Unfortunately Nick’s condition declined rapidly and now in a wheelchair full time.
Nick was granted an amazing trip to Disney by Make A Wish and had the time of his life! When he was there he got to experience a water wheelchair and loved it. It allowed us to bring him right into the pools and water fountains and he was happier than I’ve ever seen him.
Now, we’re blessed enough to live right across the street from The Wall at Hampton Beach in Hampton, NH - But the one thing that prevents us from bringing this guy everyday is the trek there. Nick has his own custom wheelchair but he’s growing up at a rapid speed and it’s now impossible to get him to the one place he wants to be. The ocean.
We’re going to try our hardest to make that happen before the end of the summer by purchasing him this amazing water chair that’ll get him there. Anything will help us get closer to that end goal! Thanks so much for taking the time to read about Nick and his story. ☮️
