Help Nick get a much needed eletric wheelchair
Donation protected
Nick is 14, he loves animals, loves school and loves hanging out with his mates. But Nick lives with Duchenne's Muscular Dystrophy, a progressive condition that affects his muscles and has now sadly left him unable to walk.
Since his mobility got worse Nick has increasingly been stuck at home where he has to crawl to get around and can't stand up for longer than a few minutes. He currently has a normal wheelchair which relies on someone to push him if he wants to leave the house and Nick is unable to do many activities for himself.
An electric wheelchair would be life-changing for Nick. It would give him freedom. It would let him take his beloved dog Scobby out for walks again. He would be able to visit the zoo, spend time with his family in Cornwall, visit the beach (as this new chair works on sand!) and simply pop to the shops with his mates after school! Normal things that 14-year-old boys should be able to do.
Nick’s amazing Mum Abi has already worked tirelessly to secure £12,000 in funding for an electric wheelchair. But the wheelchair he needs costs £15,000 and Abi will lose the funding she’s secured if they don’t reach the full target by the end of March.
Below is a picture of Nick test driving the chair that could give him his independence back. Please, help in any way you can to get us to our £3,000 target before the end of March.
The difference this would make to both Nick and Abi’s life is almost indescribable, and they would be so grateful. Thank you.
