Hi, my name is Nick. Most of you all know that I have been out at transgender (female to male) for quite sometime now. A little over 8 years! I have struggled with gender dysphoria since I was a little kid, I couldn’t put it into words but I knew that something was off. I have struggled with my mental health and these things that I am achieving are genuinely helping me in the long run. Last July I started hormone replacement therapy and it has genuinely saved me, I finally began feeling like myself. After I started hormone replacement therapy, shortly after, I told my provider that I want to get top surgery and I asked how long I needed to be on HRT for. She told me at least 9 months. After I started HRT, I was able to get off of at least 3 different anxiety medications that I was on. The HRT started doing its thing and I felt more confident and comfortable within myself. I have been wanting top surgery (the removal of breast tissue) since my late middle school days. I set up a consultation with my surgeon and went to my pre op appointment. I saved up a lot of PTO to take the time off of work just for this procedure. I put down my deductible for my top surgery from the last gofundme that I started a few months back and I’m doing crowdfunding again to pay the rest of the surgery bill for after surgery. I received top surgery on April 7th, and I also have post-op appointments that I will have bills for. I’m very excited for this journey in life, I will be taking a month off of work for surgery and recovery. I am happy to say that being able to get this surgery is a blessing! Anything helps. ❤️
