Hello all, I'm Nick and I'm starting this GoFundMe to help my boyfriend, Chris, and me as we navigate a sudden and unexpected hardship.

Currently, we both live together in a wonderful home in Springfield, MA. We rent a room and provide for the house in many ways. This place, our home, we knew it wasn't permanent, and we thought we had a few more years to spend there in order to get our finances under control and build up our savings.

However, we were given a sudden and unexpected ultimatum. A timeline that even we don't think we can prepare for. We have until the fall of this year, 2026, to somehow save up enough money to find new housing.

It's devastating, and it's been extremely difficult for us to wrap our heads around as we frantically try to collect ourselves. I myself am in debt from past bills from my cat that passed earlier this year, as well as a car payment and student loans, putting me easily in $70,000 worth of debt: $57k from student loans, $8.5k credit card debt, and $3k remaining on my car. Chris unfortunately does not have the best of jobs, and his income, while as helpful as it can be, will not be enough to keep us both afloat when combined with mine.

We have potentially 3 cats to take with us and not many options, as rentals don't usually allow for more than 2 pets, let alone any at all, as that seems to be the trend. We are looking to raise enough money to at least put a down payment on a home, as well as help pay down some of our existing debts so that we have less stress in our life, and a much higher chance of being able to find housing without having to give up one or all of our babies. Our goal is $25,000, which we plan to allocate at least $20k to a down payment or rental help, and $5k to go to paying down credit card and car loan debt.

We know this goal may be a bit of a stretch, but we are in dire straits. At this point, anything helps, especially now.
