My name is Lorri Downey, and with the help of Jeannette Anske, we are setting up this GoFundMe for my brother-in-law, Nick Bonacci.

Nick has just been diagnosed with stomach cancer, and our family is still processing this devastating news. As he begins treatment and focuses on fighting this battle, the financial burden is already weighing heavily on him and his family. Even with insurance, there are significant medical expenses, deductibles, and out-of-pocket costs that simply aren’t covered.

Nick is truly one of the great guys. He proudly served our country in the U.S. Navy, and he continues to serve his community every day as a firefighter in Sykesville. He has always been the one to show up when someone is in need — whether in uniform or as a friend. Now, he needs us.

He is a devoted husband, a loving father, and a loyal friend to everyone fortunate enough to know him. Nick has spent his life helping others without hesitation. We’re asking for your help to ease the financial strain so he can focus on what matters most: his health and his family.
