My name is Nick Armijo - a husband, father, grandfather, and ICU nurse. For 29 years, I've had the honor of caring for my community during the most difficult times of their lives. I've held hands, offered comfort, and prayed with families that were hurting. It is a gift from God how He has molded my heart to care for others.
Now, unexpectedly, I find myself on the other side of that experience.
I was recently diagnosed with extraskeletal osteosarcoma, a very rare and aggressive cancer. I've been referred to the Mayo Clinic in Phoenix for specialized treatment. Since November, I have been unable to work. My wife has been supporting us while we also withdrew from our retirement accounts to stay afloat.
The expense of three trips to Phoenix has taken a toll financially. Hotel rooms, rental cars, meals, and medical bills add up quickly. With many more appointments, radiation, and surgery, the financial strain is overwhelming.
In addition to medical and travel costs, we are struggling to keep up with everyday responsibilities:
Home mortgage payment
Car payments
Payment to the Internal Revenue Service
Everyday living expenses
Our goal is to raise $35,000 to $40,000 to help cover these expenses. Your support means the world to us and brings hope and strength.
Throughout my career, I chose to give everything to care for your loved ones. I treated patients with the same compassion I would want for my family. I prayed with families in their darkest moments. Now I ask you to pray for us.
Thank you for reading our story, my amazing wife included. This is our story.
Psalms 46 verse 10: Be still and know that I am God
With Gratitude,
Nick and Bernadette Armijo
