Hello Bay Area community,

Our friends Nicholle and Erik are going through a tough time and could use our help. They’re loving, hard-working parents of twin toddlers, just a year and a half old. Like so many families in the Bay Area, they’ve been navigating the high cost of living in Oakland, California — doing their best to keep things stable and safe for their little ones.

Recently, Erik was laid off from work unexpectedly, which has thrown their finances into a tight spot. Erik is the sole provider for the family as Nicholle is a full-time homemaker. Though he has since found work, the timing has made it especially difficult to cover this month’s rent and bills.

As parents to energetic toddlers, Nicholle and Erik had carefully planned this new chapter of their lives - finding a safe neighborhood for their children to grow up in and securing reliable transportation for their family. This sudden interruption in their income has created a short-term crisis during what should be a hopeful time.

Those who know this family understand how hardworking and responsible they are. Erik has demonstrated this by quickly finding new employment, but the timing of his start date and first paycheck has created this pressing situation - one that puts their housing stability and basic needs at risk.

We’re hoping to rally friends, family, and community to help bridge the gap while they get back on their feet. Any contribution, no matter the size, will go directly toward helping Nicholle and Erik stay in their home and keep their family secure during this stressful time.
